Why We Give

Psalm 50 reminds us that God owns “the cattle on a thousand hills.” Everything we have is already His. When we give, we’re not losing—we’re worshiping. Giving is an act of obedience, a declaration that Jesus Christ is Lord of our lives, and a joyful response to His generosity.

As Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 9:7:
“Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
